Autumnal Discovery Days

A Northeast 'Indian summer' cavorts into fall...From week to week, day to day, we bounce back and forth - sunny warmth, wet-cold winds, sunny cool, damp-humidity - quite erratic, yet exhilarating! In the past month, I've kept pounding away - looking for some sort of part time survival gig to help me continue comfortably pursue the work I love as an actor and director. Not giving up, though admittedly, there are some discouraging days. However, I keep finding little cracks of light: I have been taking some terrific classes, and making some wonderful new connections and friends through networking..learning, growing in so many ways - professionally and personally.Breathing more. THAT's important. And most welcome. I also wanted to share my results from a great typing/quality exercise I began after a wonderful class and one-on-one with Bonnie Gillespie, last week. The exercise itself is so key, especially as I am, at this time, still having to rely almost entirely on self-submission for roles. I asked a number of people, who either knew me personally or just met me, and/or saw my headshot, to give me a handful of 'first impressions' - adjectives describing me or my qualities. I found intriguing patterns. Some surprising, some not so much. But it was fun, and made me think about perceptions - others' of us, and ours of ourselves. Want to play? Check out my headshot on my FB public page (a link is on the sidebar...feel free to go ahead and 'like' my page, while you are there! Thanks!) and then give me a handful of your impressions here on this blog entry. (One word adjectives/impressions are best for the algorithm to work!)
